Welcome to Dernancourt Kindergarten
Dernancourt Kindergarten is situated in a quiet suburban street in Highbury.
We have a large outdoor area where children can play games, run, ride bikes and be involved in caring for our garden.
We offer a fun educational curriculum that is welcoming and responsive to the needs of children and parents in a smaller community environment. The kindergarten program is based on play and focuses on providing learning experiences based on individual children's needs.
We also have a focus on Numeracy development, use the "You Can Do It" program and the National Curriculum "Being, Belonging and Becoming.

Session Times
Four sessions are available for four year old children for four terms prior to starting school.
Pre-entry sessions are also available in the term prior to starting Kindy. Children can attend one of the sessions per week. Pre-entry is available from 9.15am to 11.15am Wednesday or Thursday.
Early entry and Early Intervention Programs for children with particular learning needs are available. Please contact the Director if you wish to discuss.
Vacancies are now available for children from 3 years 9 months of age.
We keep a waiting list from toddler age.

| Please note: Sessions for Term 1 2012 Kindergarten will operate: Monday to Wednesday 9.00am – 3.00pm & Thursday 9.00am to 12noon Non-contact time for staff will be on Thursday afternoon. Children will be able to attend Kindergarten for a combination of 2 full days and a half day. Therefore on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays some children would go home at 12pm. We will be assessing pre-entry on a term by term basis depending on availability in sessions. |

Playgroup Information
Our Playgroup is for families and carers and is held on a Friday from 10.00am to 12 noon.
Playgroup children must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for the supervision of their child/ren or those in their care. Everybody is asked to assist in helping to pack up at the end of the session.
Cost of Playgroup is $2.50 per week per child over 12 months plus Playgroup Assoc fee payable either once a term or yearly.
All families are required to join the Playgroup Assoc of South Australia. Please contact our Playgroup Coordinator for further details.

Our staff can assist you with options for child care in our local area.
